Tangalooma Day Charter

Sit back and relax, or help sail the vessel, your choice.

Our Skipper will take you across Moreton Bay and anchor next to the Tangalooma Wrecks, just meters off the white sandy beaches of Moreton Island.

Arrive Newport Marina at 07:45am

The day begins with your arrival at Newport Marina by 07:45am.

Your Skipper will welcome you aboard the yacht and introduce you to the features of the vessel and assist you to load any of your gear on board. You should bring normal beach gear, including towels and sunscreen, hats and cameras.

Once we are settled, your Skipper will conduct a short safety briefing before departure at 8:00 am.

We set sail at 8am and track East

Once the safety briefing is complete, at 08:00am we depart the marina. Initially we head north through the Newport Marina channel briefly, before we take up an easterly track to head to Moreton Island.

Moreton Island is located on the eastern side of Moreton Bay, with Tangalooma roughly in the middle of Moreton Island. You are welcome to help the skipper sail the vessel or just sit back, relax and enjoy the trip. Keep your eye out for dolphins and in whale season you just might see a humpback whale on our way out.

Your skipper will provide morning tea as we set sail.

Arrive Tangalooma Wrecks around 11:30am

Once anchored at Tangalooma your skipper will serve a light lunch.

You will have around 2 hours to enjoy the Tangalooma wrecks and Moreton Island. That's heaps of time to explore the beach, take a swim or a short bush walk. There are heaps of opportunities for photos so bring a good camera, and if you have one - an underwater camera for some fantastic photos of the wrecks with coral formations and the abundant fish life.

Back at the Marina around 5:00pm

On the way home, chat about the shared experiences of the day. Share your photos and hopefully we get to spot some of Moreton Bay's dolphins on the way home.

On the way home your skipper will serve a delicious cheese platter.

You are welcome to bring your own wine, beer or champagne to enjoy during the trip.

Bring Your Own Alcohol

The vessel is equipped with a large fridge to store your alcohol and other drinks if you wish to bring these to enjoy.

Refreshments and Drinks Provided

For all charters we provide bottled water, morning tea, a light lunch and a cheese platter.

Full Day 7:45 am - 5:00 pm

Our charter provides you with over 9 hours of enjoyment. We are one of the few charter services to allow you time on Moreton Island as well as sailing the Bay.
